Stephanie Russell Krebs is the dean of students and serves as the chief student affairs officer for The University of Tampa. Dr. Krebs holds a bachelor’s degree in theater/speech from Butler University (IN), a master’s degree from Western Illinois University in college student personnel and a doctorate from Colorado State University in higher education leadership.
Dr. Krebs is active in various community and professional organizations. In Tampa, she serves as the community advisory board chair for Girls on the Run, a nonprofit which inspires young girls to be joyful, healthy and confident through an experience-based curriculum that integrates running. Dr. Krebs is also a member of Leadership Tampa 2014 and a current member of the Leadership Tampa Alumni Association.
On a regional level she served as the chair of the South National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) conference in Chattanooga, TN. On a national level she served as convention coordinator of the NACA national convention in Minneapolis, MN, and has served as a faculty member for a variety of NACA summer workshops, as well as a member of the NACA Board of Directors.
Dr. Krebs has been awarded the NACA C. Shaw Smith New Professional Award, the NACA Outstanding Project Manager and the NACA Outstanding Commitment to Diversity Award. She has been a special guest speaker at the Women’s Leadership Institute for the National Student Personnel Association (NASPA) and guest speaker at the Canadian Organization for Campus Activities (COCA) national convention.
Dr. Krebs’ research interests include interfaith dialogue and work-life balance, and she is a frequent author in NACA’s Programming Magazine and the NASPAJournal of College and Character.
Two interesting facts about Dr. Krebs: 1) She wrote and delivered the invocation for a town hall meeting at the University of Tampa with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. 2) She worked at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as a college student on the Great Movie Ride.
Dr. Krebs is happily married and has two daughters (14 and 9) and one son (3).
