Leader of Diversity & Leadership Development
Cognizant

I’m an HR professional whose background, experiences and expertise include HR leadership, talent development, diversity & inclusion, employee engagement, communications and change management. Colleagues and friends describe me as someone known for simply being an influential and inspiring leader–one who believes that “every day may not be good, but there’s something good in every day” (Alice Morse Earle). In each day, there’s so much that can be accomplished by influencing the next big idea or inspiring the next, great female CEO, CISO, CFO and Entrepreneur!

Today, in addition to bringing my “whole self” to work, I bring expertise and experiences in HR leadership, diversity & inclusion, talent and leadership development, employee engagement and change management to Cognizant Technology Solutions, serving as the organization’s Head of Diversity & Leadership Development. To further enhance Cognizant’s commitment to diversity, I play a key role in the company’s efforts around executive talent & leadership development while staying focused on building a diverse, high performing pipeline of strong leaders.

Before joining Cognizant, I spent 11+ years with PwC, serving in exciting people leadership roles in market and national capacities while collaborating with global territories across the enterprise. Prior to PwC, I built my career leading people strategies via roles with Washington Mutual, Sears and American International Group.

In the spirit of knowledge sharing and developing others, I enjoy speaking at national conferences on topics such as HR leadership, personal and professional brand and diversity. A few of my speaking engagements include Conscious Capitalism of Florida, the National Association of African-Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR), the Florida Diversity Council, the University of Michigan, Indiana University, the University of Phoenix and Junior Achievement. I’ve been recognized for my professional accomplishments in Black Enterprise magazine and in 2014, I became the recipient of the “Most Powerful and Influential Woman Award” by the National Diversity Council.

My husband Evol and I live in the Tampa Bay area, and we have two young adult children–Kayla and Kristian. I’m an avid lover of fabulous shoes who enjoys family time, fitness, kayaking, traveling, writing, reading, quote collecting and any vacation that involves warm weather and a beach.
