Dr. Rathoreis a native of Pakistan where he went to medical school. After completing his medical training in Ohio and Missouri he has been livingin Jacksonville for 27yearswith his wife whoisalso a physician. His older son is a consultant in Washington, DC and younger son is in medical student.Dr. Rathore is atenured Professor and Associate Chair of Pediatricsat University of Florida and Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunology at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Heis the Founding Director of the UF Center for HIV/AIDS Research, Educationand Service (UF CARES). He is the Past President of Duval County Medical Societyand the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics(AAP)and Vice Chair for AAP District X (FL, AL, GA and PR). He has served on the boards of Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, HIV Medicine Association and Medical Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital.He serves on the board of Governors of the Florida Medical Association.

Dr. Rathore has received Rebecca Denison Award from the Department of Health and Human Servicesand Red Ribbon Award from AIDS Institute in recognition of his services in prevention of mother-to-Child transmission of HIV. He also received Community Service Award and ClydeCollins Humanitarian Award from Duval County Medical Society and Health Care Heroes Awards from Jacksonville Business Journal.

Besides serving on the board of Leadership Jacksonville, Dr. Rathore serves on the board of OneJax and Islamic Center of Northeast Florida and is the Founding Chair of board of Muslim American Social Services,a non-profit free clinic for the uninsured.He hasalso held Mayoral appointmentsto the HIV Advisory Council, Environmental Protection Board and Asian American Advisory Board.
