Carrie Zeisse

Carrie Zeisse joined United Way Suncoast (UWS) in 2015 as Chief Operating Officer – a newly-created position aimed at ensuring organizational alignment as it works to achieve its five-year strategic plan to break the cycle of generational poverty. Zeisse worked previously at the United Way of Greater Portland (Maine), where she served in a similar capacity working with Suzanne McCormick, UWS’s President and CEO.

As COO, Zeisse oversees the administration, finance, operations, and technology departments of the organization, as well as collaborate with staff and the Board of Directors to lead the development, execution and monitoring of the organization’s strategic plan.

Prior to joining the United Way system, Carrie served for five years as Vice President of Business Development and Finance for the Boston Harbor Island Alliance. One of the country’s most unique National Parks partnerships, Zeisse worked with federal, state, city and nonprofit partners to raise resources and revitalization efforts, and oversaw business planning, major capital projects, and all earned-revenue programs for the park. Prior to this, Zeisse was the Director of Marketing and Strategy for national programs at the Trust for Public Land, where she led efforts to launch and scale fee-for-service projects for national land conservation and campaign services.

A native of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Carrie holds a MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Maine College of Art. She has spent more than a decade in the social impact sector supporting innovative, community-level change initiatives to advance the common good.
