Archana Vatwani graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2006 and her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 2012. She is currently an assistant professor at Nova Southeastern University at the Physical Therapy department, Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences. Prior to this position, she worked at The Johns Hopkins Hospital for a decade clinically practicing in the field of adult acute care physical therapy (PT) specifically cardiovascular and pulmonary PT. Dr. Vatwani has authored several peer-reviewed articles, abstracts and presentations at national level conferences. Her scholarly interests include Left Ventricular Assistive Device (LVAD) patients, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), physical therapy management in acute care, early mobility in ICU’s, effectiveness of ergonomics in graduate students and cultural competence in healthcare. She is currently concussion certified (AIB-CCON) from the American Institute of Balance, certified lymphedema and wound care therapist (CLWT) from the International Lymphedema and Wound Care Training Institute . In addition, she also has an advanced cardiovascular life support certification from the American Heart Association. She is an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) member and is a current member of the education, acute care, cardiovascular and pulmonary and geriatric sections of the APTA. She is also a current member of the World Stroke Organization, Movement Disorder Society and International Society for Evidence-Based Practice. Dr. Vatwani is passionate about participating, learning, implementing change and researching on topics related to diversity and inclusion.
