CAIR-Florida’s Civil Rights Coordinator, Aida Mackic, has always had a passion forusing her creativity and experience to better the community. Aida is an American-Muslim who prides herself in being a community organizer and an activist. Her passion lies in developing bridges between communities through respectful dialogue and in collaboration with other groups to promote minority empowerment.

She was born in Kljuc, Bosnia and Hercegovina. Due to the civil unrest in Bosnia her family came to Des Moines, Iowa. Before joining CAIR-Florida’s civil rights department, Aidahelped organized many community projects. From leading efforts in opening an Iowa Food pantry branch, to organizing peaceful demonstrations in efforts to raise awareness against wars in Syria and Gaza. Aida has presented dozens of lectures on Islam and politics throughout the United States. She is continuously committed to providing resources and seeking equality for all.
