Greetings from Sarah King, Chair of the Florida Diversity Council's Board of Directors
The National Diversity Council is excited to launch a more extensive diversity and inclusion training calendar throughout the United States. The Council's ultimate goal is to become the premier diversity and inclusion resource for business and community leaders. In Florida, we will be holding our first Diversity & Inclusion Workshop session in Orlando in June. The session will focus on two key topics: (1) Leading by Example: Developing Cultural Competency, and (2) Crafting & Framing a Sustainable Diversity & Inclusion Strategy. I would also like to invite you to attend one of our upcoming events that focuses on a particular niche group or industry. Later this month, we will have our statewide Healthcare Diversity Summit in Southwest Florida. Our Healthcare Diversity Summits aim to provide attendees with a better understanding about diversity and inclusion topics that pertain to the healthcare sphere. In June, we have our annual LGBT-Allies Diversity Summit, which will take place in Orlando. The theme for this year's Summit is "The Power of Allies: Promoting LGBT Inclusion in the Workplace." Last, but not least, we have our Corporate Responsibility Summit taking place in South Florida in August. If you are interested in any of these niche-focused events, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Council's staff or me for additional information.
