I would like to welcome you to our inaugural quarterly edition of our newsletter. This year the Florida Diversity Council (FLDC) is celebrating its 3rd year of existence. I am grateful and proud of the work we have done as a team and am especially grateful for the support of our board members, the countless volunteers, and a special note of gratitude to our corporate members who have supported the FLDC and continue to accompany us on our mission. I would also like to acknowledge the FLDC Staff for their part in our success throughout this year. We had some new initiatives launched this year and I am extremely proud of the work we have done as a team.  

I thank you, our reader, for sharing our vision of being committed to diversity and the transformation of our workplace and community into environments where people are valued for their uniqueness, and are secure in the knowledge that their efforts make a difference. Your participation and eagerness to champion our events through the years have demonstrated that you also share our vision.

We recognize the importance of having this newsletter as a means to share our work with all of you, and to keep you informed of key programs, activities and events we have incorporated for 2011 as well as those coming for 2012. Therefore, I am excited about the opportunity to offer this resource to the community of Florida in a concerted effort to leverage diversity to achieve excellence in business, while making Florida a great place to work and live.
